About

Dr. Agung Parameswara is a Bali-based documentary photographer and researcher, explores issues of cultural economics, culture, sustainability, and the creative industries. Agung received summa cum laude during his doctoral program in Economic Science at Udayana University, Indonesia. Agung is now the head of the Center for International Development in Warmadewa University. Agung frequently works for NGOs to document plastic waste pollution and sustainability issues in Indonesia.

Producing a creative idea and work is a challenge to me and therefore i should keep learning and searching to get something new and different. 

From my photographic journey, I started my career as a freelance photographer in 2010. My works have been published in international publications such as The New York Times, TIME Lightbox, Stern, Days Japan Magazine, Terra Mater Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Daily Mail UK, The Age Australia, The Washington Post, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, GEO Germany, Internazionale Italy, Courier International, XL Semanal Magazine, The Jakarta Post, SEA Globe Magazine, National Geographic Traveler Indonesia, Rhytm Montly Magazine, Travel 3 Sixty Magazine, Marie Claire Indonesia, Al Jazeera, A Magasinet Afterposten, DestinAsian Indonesia and many others.

2015 - Climate change reportage grant from CFI (Canal France International) Workshop 
2015 - Schoolarship Foundry Photojournalism Workshop in Bali, mentored by James Whitlow Delano, Thorne Anderson and Khael Alford. Agung received predicate the best student on their class. 
2015 - Climate Change reportage workshop related of a year grant reportage by CFI (Canal France International) in Malaysia.
